In a significant expansion of its corporate practice in Greater China, the global law firm Hogan Lovells has announced the addition of two distinguished legal experts, David Wang and Meka Meng, formerly of Paul Hastings. This move comes as part of the firm's strategic efforts to enhance its transactional strength throughout Asia.
David Wang, who brings a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in complex cross-border transactions, has been instrumental in developing significant practices in Shanghai and Beijing. His expertise covers a broad spectrum including acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, and securities offerings. "Having spent much of my career building teams and advising on complex cross-border M&A, I am thrilled to bring that experience to one of the top firms globally," Wang commented regarding his new role. He added, "The firm’s ambition to grow its corporate practice in Greater China and across Asia resonates strongly with me."
On the other hand, Meka Meng specializes in private equity fund formation, investment transactions, offshore investment management, and joint ventures. His addition notably strengthens Hogan Lovells' capabilities in outbound investments and venture capital. Meng expressed his enthusiasm about joining Hogan Lovells, noting, "This is a tremendous opportunity to bring my experience to a truly global platform. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues in Greater China and across the global network to help clients achieve their strategic investment goals."
The recruitment of Wang and Meng aligns with Hogan Lovells' recent pattern of acquiring top talent across the Asian region, with new team members also added in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. James Doyle, leader of the firm’s Corporate & Finance practice, described the hires as a natural extension of Hogan Lovells’ strategy to enhance its service offerings in the APAC region. "David and Meka's deep local insights and distinguished track record will further strengthen our existing team," Doyle stated.
Hogan Lovells, a global law firm with over 2,600 lawyers across six continents, is renowned for its deep industry knowledge and cross-border capabilities, serving major players in sectors such as life sciences, financial services, technology, and energy. With these new additions, Hogan Lovells is set to enhance its ability to meet the complex legal needs of its clients and drive strategic growth in one of the world's most dynamic regions.
