Jones Day, a leading global law firm, has announced the appointment of David DeVito as of counsel in its acclaimed Health Care & Life Sciences Practice. DeVito, who will be based in the San Francisco office, brings a rich blend of government and private sector experience, particularly noted during his tenure as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of California. Over the past seven years, he has held significant roles including Deputy Chief of the Civil Division and Chief of the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit.
During his government service, DeVito led initiatives on health care fraud, cybersecurity, and False Claims Act litigation, which have prepared him to handle complex legal challenges in the health care sector. Before his time in public service, he practiced at prominent law firms, dealing with cases related to health care fraud, bankruptcy, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation.

DeVito’s educational background includes a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and an undergraduate degree from New York University. He also clerked for Hon. Arthur S. Weissbrodt at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
