Kirkland & Ellis LLP, a preeminent international law firm, has successfully advised Windjammer Capital on its recent acquisition of PDU Cables and Engineered Products Company (EPCO), marking a significant expansion in the power distribution market for the private equity firm. This acquisition, completed in partnership with the company's management and the Lee Family, remains discreet on financial terms.

Windjammer Capital, recognized for its strategic investments in middle-market companies, sees this acquisition as a key step forward in capitalizing on the burgeoning demand for data center components. According to Ryan Pertz, Managing Director at Windjammer, “PDU Cables stands at the forefront of supplying critical components to data centers, which are increasingly essential in an era dominated by AI, IoT, and cloud computing.”

PDU Cables, a leader in the North American market since 1981, is well known for its rapid custom fabrication of branch-circuit power distribution cable assemblies, essential for mission-critical data centers. “Our longstanding commitment to quick turnaround times and ease of installation has set us apart,” said Troy Peterson, CEO of PDU Cables and EPCO. Peterson highlights the strategic partnership with Windjammer as a move to upscale their operations to meet rising market demands while continuing to deliver exceptional service standards.

The acquisition was strategically advised by Citizens JMP Securities for Windjammer, while Baird provided financial counsel to PDU Cables and EPCO. Legal perspectives were handled by Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP for the acquired entities.

Windjammer Capital, established in 1990 and operating from both Newport Beach, CA, and Waltham, MA, has cultivated a reputable standing in the private equity sector. With over $2 billion in committed capital and a portfolio exceeding 100 acquisitions, Windjammer emphasizes long-term, transparent partnerships that bolster both growth and innovation.
