Atlanta's Legal Eagles to Showcase Creativity in Upcoming Halloween Costume Contest

Spooky season is upon us, and with it comes the thrill of Above the Law’s annual Halloween costume contest, a highlight for creatively inclined lawyers and law students. For over a decade, ATL has been inviting participants to weave legal themes into their Halloween garb, and the results have consistently impressed with their ingenuity and humor.

This year, as the leaves turn and the air cools, the legal community is buzzing with anticipation. Participants often spend weeks brainstorming and crafting their costumes, aiming not only to win but also to express their legal acumen in festive, humorous ways.

Past contests have seen a wide array of clever entries. Memorable winners include the "Donald J. Trump College of Law" costume that featured in 2016, and the "Brett Kavanaugh’s calendar and his beer" ensemble that captured the spirit of 2018. More recently, the 2020 competition was won by the adorable "Ruth Baby Ginsburg," and in 2023, "Warhol’s Soup Law" took the top spot, showcasing creativity that extends well beyond traditional legal symbols.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on how to submit your legally themed costumes. The ATL team is eager to see this year's entries and to celebrate the community's creative spirit. More than just a competition, this event is a beloved tradition that brings laughter and light-heartedness to the often serious world of law. So, dust off your gavels and legal books, and get ready to participate in a contest where your legal wit is your greatest costume accessory.
