NetDocuments Unveils Game-Changing Tools for Plaintiffs’ Lawyers

NetDocuments, traditionally known for serving larger law firms, has announced an innovative step into the plaintiffs' contingency fee lawyers’ market. Their new offerings are set to revolutionize how lawyers manage case documents and prepare for litigation.

The company has launched a Medical Chronology app, designed to summarize medical records into structured memos for chronological review. This tool is complemented by the Demand Generator app, which extracts vital information from documents to craft demand letters for various legal matters including personal injury and insurance cases.

Perhaps the most intriguing is the Expert Witness Profile Builder app. This tool builds detailed profiles of expert witnesses by analyzing their CVs, transcripts, and published works. It flags inconsistencies in testimonies and provides valuable information for cross-examination.

These tools not only enhance the efficiency of legal professionals but also promise to transform unstructured data into strategic insights, thereby saving valuable time and resources.

In a conversation with Heath Harris, NetDocuments’ VP of Applied AI, it was revealed that the move towards serving plaintiffs' lawyers was inspired by the realization that the company’s existing tools could be adapted for lawyers who don’t bill by the hour but rather, earn based on case results. According to Harris, these tools are like "candy" in transforming data into actionable insights with the help of AI.

The creation of the Expert Witness Profile Builder, for instance, uses the same underlying technology as their Judge Analytics tool, demonstrating the versatile application of NetDocuments' existing technologies to meet new market needs.

Harris also highlighted the strategic hiring of Silicon Valley-oriented personnel to better understand and cater to this new market segment, emphasizing a customer-centric approach in the development and marketing of these tools.

While it remains to be seen how these new applications will perform in the market, NetDocuments’ proactive adaptation and innovation could pave the way for significant advancements in legal document management and case preparation for plaintiffs' lawyers.

As the legal industry continues to evolve with technological advancements, tools like these from NetDocuments are not just cool; they're potentially transformative, offering new ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in legal practices.
