Clayton County Superior Court Judge Aaron Mason concluded his meal by accidentally discharging a firearm while attempting to settle the bill.

On the evening of September 15, the local police were summoned to the restaurant following reports of a gunshot. The ABA Journal reveals that Judge Mason was trying to fetch his wallet but mistakenly fired his Glock, which was tucked in a leather holster. The discharge certainly added a literal bang to the evening’s ambiance.

The bullet tore through Mason’s jeans, leaving two holes before striking the restaurant's tile floor. The mishap caused minor injuries among the patrons: one customer sustained a slight forehead cut from flying debris, while two other women reported harm but did not seek medical attention. Thankfully, all injuries were non-critical.

Despite the startling incident, authorities have decided not to press criminal charges against Judge Mason, quickly closing the case on what could have been a more severe legal and public safety issue.
